Conversation about cloths

Recently, David Gallimore who is the managing director of one of the largest woollen textile producers in the UK visited me in my shop in Empire City. David spends a lot of time on the road, so I asked him his opinion about the ideal travel cloth. David's company is the exclusive producer of fabrics from the Escorial sheep, a strain of merino that originated from the Spanish royal flock of El Escorial. He explained the special properties of this fibre. We then talk about cloth finishing, and also the difference between British and Italian finishing. The topic of mohair came up. I wanted to know how one goes about appreciating mohair cloth in this day and age. We wrapped up the conversation by talking about the sustainability and ethical aspects of wool production.
